The final country radio singles charts for 2016 gives Brett Eldredge a Christmas present as “Wanna Be That Song” becomes his latest number one single.

The final advanced charts of 2016 are out and Brett is in the #1 spot on both the Billboard Country Airplay and Mediabase/Country Aircheck singles charts.

Scoring the final chart topper of 2016 also gives Brett his sixth #1 single in a row. The song is from Brett’s latest studio project, the #1 album titled after his home state, Illinois. The album is available everywhere now.

What was the catalyst for “Wanna Be That Song,” now a #1 song?

“I was in an interview and somebody asked me and said, ‘What do you wanna do with your career as an artist when you look back in 10 or 20 years?’,” Brett explains, “I said, ‘I wanna be that song that, you know, makes you fall in love, that makes you dance when you need to dance and makes you cry when you need to cry. I want to be that to someone.’ I wanna be that song, I wanna be that…when you hear that song, it takes you back to a special place. I wanna be that special place. So, we wrote that song and it’s definitely one of my favorite songs I’ve ever written.”

Brett also released his first Christmas album this year titled Glow that is also available everywhere now.

Congratulations to Brett Eldredge on his #1 song “Wanna Be That Song.”
