It has been confirmed that Blake Shelton‘s girlfriend Gwen Stefani will return to The Voice for season 12. Or should I say that Blake is Gwen Stefani’s boyfriend? I guess it depends on which artist you are a bigger fan of.

Although season 11 is still in the Battle Rounds with Blake, Adam Levine, Alicia Keys and Miley Cyrus serving as coaches, the coaches that will spin in the chairs for season 12 have been announced.

Blake and Adam will continue their reign as the only two coaches to be a part of every season of The Voice to date. Alicia is making her debut as a coach right now in season 11 on the show and will return for a second consecutive season in February of 2017. Miley will take a season away after this one and return for season 13.

Gwen was a coach for season seven and season nine. She also served as a mentor from Team Blake on season 10. She will return to the show as a coach for season 12.

E! News quotes Paul Telegdy, president of Alternative and Reality Group at NBC Entertainment as saying, “We can’t wait to experience the unique chemistry and energy Gwen, Alicia, Blake and Adam will bring to season 12. With Miley returning for season 13, we’re truly ecstatic about the unmatched musical know-how and talent coming together in our coming seasons.”

When Blake and Gwen were coaches together on the show in 2015, the personal relationship was still growing in its early stages. It will be interesting to see if the interaction between the two on the show is different now that they have been in that relationship longer and it is obviously much stronger.
