The advance country singles charts are out and William Michael Morgan and Billy Currington are sharing a number one week!

Billy Currington’s latest single “It Don’t Hurt Like It Used To” has topped the Billboard Country Airplay singles chart for this week. The song sits at #2 on the Mediabase/Country Aircheck chart this week.

The song is Billy’s 11th career #1 single. It is from his latest album Summer Forever that is available digitally and in music stores everywhere. That album has also produced the number one song “Don’t It.”

Billy co-wrote the song with Cary Barlowe and Shy Carter. He says the idea for the song’s lyrics, “must be buried deep in my heart where the lyrics started coming out from because it wasn’t anything that was on the top of my head that afternoon. It wasn’t anything pre-thought about ‘What can we write this day?’ or anything like that. It was just Cary started playing that guitar and I don’t know it just kept coming out and coming out and coming out and before you know it we had a song.”

On the other major chart it is William Michael Morgan sitting at #1 on the Mediabase/Country Aircheck singles chart with his debut single “I Met A Girl.” That song sits at #2 on the Billboard Country Airplay singles chart for this week.

The song is from William Michael’s debut album titled Vinyl which was released last Friday, September 30th. Obviously being his debut single it is also William Michael’s first career chart topper.

William Michael is grateful that the song is connecting with people. “We’ve had people send us pictures of their wedding. You know, we’ve had people tell us that they’re gonna have this song in their wedding,” he shares, “And, you know, for that…I mean, that’s a lifetime. To be a part of a wedding is so phenomenal. You know, for them, one to even want to put it in there, but, I mean, there’s people saying they’re walking down the aisle to it, and, you know, that just makes me so happy, you know, that people would allow me into their life.”

William Michael Morgan is scheduled to open the show when Justin Moore and Lee Brice bring their co-headlining “American Made Tour” to the Coliseum here in Bloomington, IL Saturday, February 11th, 2017. Get the concert details here.

Congratulations to William Michael Morgan on his #1 song “I Met A Girl” and to Billy Currington on his #1 song “It Don’t Hurt Like It Used To.”
