Jon Pardi was given a signature Buck Owens guitar which he was “proud” to receive.

Just like Buck, Jon is a native of California. That means when he got to headline the “Buck’s Birthday Bash” at Buck Owens’ Crystal Palace in Bakersfield, California last Friday night (8/12), Jon was already honored. Jon says, “People don’t always know how big of a star Buck was, but you get to the Palace and see the pictures on the wall of him with Dean Martin, with Ray Charles, with The Beatles.”

Jon counts Buck as one of his biggest musical influences and considers Buck Owens’ Crystal Palace in Bakersfield to be the “Grand Ole Opry of California.”

While just headlining the concert would have likely been enough for the California native, the people at the Crystal Palace had something more for Jon. The country singer-songwriter was presented with a limited edition red, white and blue Buck Owens signature guitar at the concert.

The significance of that honor was not lost on Jon as he shared, “(Buck) was huge in his day and his impact on country music was huge. This guitar represents California and I’m proud to help make people aware of Buck’s legacy.”

Jon played the guitar during the concert as seen in the picture at the top of the page that he posted to his Facebook page.

Just days after that concert and honor, Jon found out his song “Head Over Boots” had become his first career #1 single.

I think Buck Owens would have really like Jon’s first #1 song and would be proud to help make the week it reached the top of the charts more memorable with the presentation of the guitar.

Perhaps you can see Jon play that special guitar when he comes to the Peoria Civic Center Theater as part of Kip Moore‘s “Me And My Kind Tour” Friday, November 18th.
