Chris Young may be a country music star, but it doesn’t keep him from being a down to earth person as a recent generous tip to a bartender shows.
Chris was just recently at the Normal Corn Crib to headline a concert with special guest Cassadee Pope. Over his career he has been to our town on several occasions from playing at local night clubs to the Coliseum for bigger shows. I have had the chance to talk with him many times over the years and he has always been a down to earth real person who feels blessed to get to do what he loves for a living. That obviously has not changed.
Thanks to the website CountryRebel.com I was made aware of a pay it forward act of kindness and generosity by Chris Young. Apparently he was at a Chili’s Restaurant bar last Monday night (September 1st) and must have had a conversation with the bartender.
Chris had a bill of $77.06 by the time he was ready to leave. However, he added a $200 tip to the tab for the bartender. Along with the generous tip of well over 300%, Chris left a note for the bartender on the receipt that read, “Bills suck! Your service was great. Enjoy the tip.”
The bartender’s cousin shared a photo of the receipt with the huge tip on Facebook with Chris Young and included the message, “I think this is an amazingly beautiful thing you did and want to say thank you on behalf of the Chili’s Bartender that served you tonight (she is my cousin!!) I think this is the coolest thing ever.”
The bartender herself, Melodie Sullivan, commented on her cousin’s post with a message that reads, “This was so cool! And definitely made last night which started out to be a rough one a much better one!”
*High Five* to Chris Young on such a thoughtful and purely generous way to pay it forward!
