Keith Urban is coming to Bloomington-Normal with his “RipCORD World Tour.” Here’s a look back through the years of his career.
This year the Country Music Association (CMA) is celebrating 50 years for the CMA Awards Show. Part of that celebration is a series of videos on their YouTube Channel called CMA Awards 50/50. I came across the video in the series that features Keith Urban.
Keith’s episode features him watching for the first time his 2001 win for the CMA Horizon Award. His reaction to the suit he was wearing is pretty fun. Next in the video we see Keith’s 2005 win for CMA Entertainer of the Year. It is kind of interesting to see the subtle differences in Keith’s look from 2001 to 2005 to now. Watch Keith Urban through the years in the video at the top of the page.
Since that first CMA Award win in 2001, Keith has racked up 21 number one singles off of nine studio albums. Those albums include three Gold albums, three Platinum albums, a Triple-Platinum album and a Quadruple-Platinum album. If you do the math, Keith has sold in excess of 12 million albums over his career and that number keeps rising with his latest album RipCORD which accounts for three of those chart topping singles.
What CMA Awards will Keith be nominated for this year and which ones will he win? We will find out when Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood co-host the 50th Annual CMA Awards Show Wednesday, November 2nd on ABC TV. That’s just 10 days before Keith brings his tour here to Bloomington-Normal.
Keith’s headlining “RipCORD World Tour” with special guests Brett Eldredge and Maren Morris will be stopping at the Coliseum in downtown Bloomington November 12th. You can get complete concert and ticket details here.
