Apparently a beach ball annoyed Miranda Lambert one too many times while she was performing on stage in Indianapolis, so it had to die.
Miranda’s “Keeper Of The Flame Tour” stopped in Indy last Saturday, May 14th with special guests Kip Moore and Brothers Osborne. If you know anything about Miranda, she IS a fan of fun. However, when she is on stage she is working as well.
I would guess that the beach ball must have gotten in her way many times doing her performances for her to decide to take the action to end it. And considering she was about to launch into her heartfelt hit song “The House That Built Me,” I’m sure she felt that she did not want that beach ball returning to the stage when she was performing it.
In the video of the incident above you can watch as Miranda retrieves the offending beach ball from the stage and walks to the microphone. She tells the audience, “First of all, it feels like it’s January so we don’t need this today.”
Next she shares some details about the necklace she was wearing, “Secondly, my best friend Ashley Monroe gave me this necklace that I was hoping I could use tonight because it’s a pistol, but it’s also a pocket knife.”
With the pocket knife part open she says, “So, I’m sorry, very sorry for whoever’s ball this is, but it’s gonna die now.” She then stabs the ball and puts it out of the way on the stage as you can hear some applause and laughter from the audience. Miranda then returns to the microphone and gets back to performing.
I guess the lesson learned here is that if you are going to a Miranda Lambert concert, bring a beach ball knowing that it might not survive the show.
