CMT Making LakeShake Festival into TV Special

CMT has announced that they will make the LakeShake Festival in Chicago into a TV special as the inaugural “CMT Concert of The Summer.”

The worldwide channel will have cameras at Chicago’s three-day, two stage country music festival taking place at the scenic FirstMerit Bank Pavilion at Northerly Island June 17-19.

CMT reports that the special will go behind-the-scenes of Jason Aldean’s “Six String Circus Tour” with appearances by Jason’s tour mates Thomas Rhett, A Thousand Horses and other surprise guests. The television network says that the TV special will “amplify the concert going experience with exclusive on-the-scene and behind-the-scenes access, showcasing artists’ pre-show rituals, the moments they anxiously await to take the stage, as well as post-show thoughts from the unique point of view of both the artists and the fans.”

The network plans to name a festival or event the “Concert Of The Summer” each year moving forward and feature it on television and online.

The LakeShake Festival with an already amazing lineup of artists including Jason Aldean, Lady Antebellum, Tim McGraw, Brooks & Dunn and more, has gotten even bigger! The festival announced that it has partnered with the Chicago Blackhawks, offering attendees a one-of-a-kind Blackhawks Experience including a custom-built sports bar and lounge, special edition Country LakeShake/Chicago Blackhawks merchandise, giveaways, on site team games including “Shoot The Puck” and more.
