Many may consider Brett Eldredge to be one of the most eligible bachelors in country music. He has no intentions of changing his status because of commitment issues he admits he has.

When asked why he is not currently in a committed relationship the Paris, Illinois native responded, “I am scared of getting tied down right now because I am so … so driven for what I’m doing, and I just love my music so much and that is my love.”

Brett went on to explain, “I mean, committing to that is just so hard for me. I guess I probably have some commitment issues with that kind of thing,” to which he added with his fun-loving personality, “But, you know, I have trouble committing to what time I’m going to have lunch tomorrow.”

However, that doesn’t mean Brett is not open to the idea of falling in love. “You know, I’m just like…there’s just so many things in my mind that I wanna do. But, I mean, I am totally game, I’m totally open to it,” he reveals adding, “I’ve dated and stuff, I just haven’t been tied down for a little while ’cause I’m just trying to find that right gal.”

So, what qualities would the “right gal” have? “I’m just waiting to be surprised,” Brett says, continuing, “I think that’s the whole part of it all is when that girl walks into your world, your world is completely changed.”

While he’s not actively looking for that special lady, Brett says, “I’m ready for that girl to step on in [and] let me open the door… [and say] ‘Come on in.'”

While Brett may not be searching for that special love in his life, he sure does a great job singing about it. It is the underlying theme to his four consecutive #1 singles “Don’t Ya,” “Beat Of The Music,” “Mean To Me” and “Lose My Mind.”

It also the theme of his current single “Drunk On Your Love” which is currently at #14 on the Billboard Country Airplay chart and #15 on the Mediabase/Country Airchechk chart and still climbing. You can watch the music video for Brett’s current single here. The song can be found on Brett’s latest #1 album Illinois available everywhere now. Listen for “Drunk On Your Love” by Brett Eldredge on B104.

Brett is joining Keith Urban this year for the “RipCORD Tour” which will make a stop here in Bloomington November 12th along with Maren Morris at US Cellular Coliseum.

You know, thinking about Brett’s comments and the themes of his hit songs, perhaps he doesn’t have commitment issues as much as he many be in denial…
