Garth Brooks started his tour last fall in Chicago. I was fortunate enough to go to one of the shows and the noise in the place was deafening. Garth has admitted that crowds today are louder and more interactive then when he toured in the 90s.

I’m not sure Garth is right about that, but I didn’t see him in the 90s to challenge him. Here is what he told the Boot;

I’m going to tell you, and you’re going to think I’m crazy: It’s something I call karaoke, the singer explained.  It used to just be Dublin, Ireland, that could out-sing [me] — you couldn’t hear yourself singing when they were singing. Now, [it’s] every city.

I can’t tell you how many guys, 6 foot 6 or over, about 300 pounds, sing ‘She’s in Love With the Boy’ louder than any 16-year-old girl in the place.

I do think Garth Brooks is up to his promotional tricks again by challenging the crowds of the 90s to come out and get louder than the crowds today. I’m up for it!
