Carrie Underwood and Carnival Cruise Lines have joined forces to support our military service men and women and their families through Operation Homefront.

Operation Homefront is an organization that provides programs to benefit the soldiers and their families in many incredible ways, such as providing rent-free housing for wounded veterans while they get back on their feet and school supplies for their kids. Visit their website here.

The partnership between Carrie and Carnival is a year-long program being called Honor.Family.Fun. which will not only help raise funds to support the military families, but will also feature a special private concert for military families in November on board a new Carnival Cruises Ship while it is docked in New York City.

Carrie says of taking the time to give back to our military and their families, “That’s what it’s all about just getting to say thank you and I do feel so blessed that I’m in a genre of music that recognizes that. We were growing up listening to country music that was a part of it. I mean, how many songs have been written and sung by artists that are all about celebrating those that allow us to do what we get to do. So yeah, I mean, it’s all about saying thank you and being a part of that and not forgetting… not taking that lightly.”

In the video above Carrie explains that she will also be giving fans that attend her “Storyteller Tour” this year the chance to help by purchasing special dog tags (pictured on right) with all proceeds going to Operation Homefront. She will also be meeting military families during her tour with videos telling their stories of “strength, courage and spirit” being shared though a video series on Carnival.com/honorfamilyfun. Each family that Carrie meets and featured in the video series will get to join her for the special private concert in New York City in November.
