Miranda Lambert Shares Her “Scars” On Stage in Nashville [VIDEO]

Miranda Lambert performed a benefit concert in Nashville Wednesday night (1/20) and she sang a song she has wanted to perform for years called “Scars.”

The show was held at the Nashville City Winery and was a special acoustic “Roadside Bars and Pink Guitars: Unplugged” concert featuring not only Miranda, but also her friends Ashley Monroe, Nashville songwriters Nicolle Galyon, Shane McAnally and Miranda’s longtime guitarist, Scotty Wray.

It is Scotty that worked with Miranda to create the song “Scars.” Miranda has love the song for many years according to what she told the audience at the show as she introduced the tune. However, she had never performed it or recorded it because she felt she wasn’t “damaged enough” to do the song justice.

After the 2015 she had in her personal life, that feeling has changed, “It’s something you have to sell and really feel and really live and go through s**t, basically, to execute a song like that,” she explained to the audience. Miranda revealed that now she also hopes to record the song.

Miranda posted the picture below and message about the night and song on her Facebook page.

Last night was magical. I feel so blessed to call these incredibly talented people my friends. They inspire me every day. And Scotty Wray who has been by my side with a guitar in his hands for 15 years now. I’ve been singing his song “Scars” with him all those years. And last night I got to sing it on my own for the first time. It meant a lot to both of us. Sometimes you have to live it to sing it. Especially a song like that. Thanks to everyone who came to share it with us. #roadsidebarsandpinkguitars #unplugged #friends #inspiration

Charles Kelley, Maren Morris and Collin Raye also making surprise appearances for the concert that benefited the Miranda Lambert Women Creators Fund at Belmont University. The fund was established last year to provide over $40,000 in scholarship funds to a female student majoring in music business, songwriting or entertainment industry studies enrolled for the 2016/2017 academic year at the university.
