Tim McGraw has begun teasing a new song and music video for “Humble And Kind” that looks like it could be a very powerful combination.

The song can be found on Tim’s latest album Damn Country Music. While the lyrics of the song appear simplistic, it is the meaning behind them that likely motivated Tim to say, “It’s just such a special song.”

It is my opinion that when an artist sings lyrics that seem simplistic with the right emotion behind their voice that is what makes a good song a great song. So, what are the simple lyrics in “Humble And Kind” about? Tim says they are about those “things you heard growing up” that you strive to be as a person, friend and parent. However, he does admit that, “You miss the mark most of the time. But, you strive to be that.”

What takes this song to the next level is the meaning that Tim puts to those lyrics while singing them. “You look at this time where we’re at in our world, in our society and how mean [that] people can be to each other,” he says, adding, “You just wish people could take a minute; sorta realize, you know, how easy it is to just be nice.”

When you match that intention with the imagery being teased in the videos at the top of the page and the bottom you might understand why I think the song and forthcoming music video could combine to be a very powerful combination which could be very moving emotionally for people who watch it.
