In case you missed it, new country music star Kelsea Ballerini took a special date to the CMA Awards Show this year, it was St. Jude patient Allie Allen.
Kelsea was at St. Jude Children’s Hospital in Memphis to perform with many other country music stars when she met Allie. Kelsea mistook Allie for another country singer before finding out that the 17-year-old was actually a patient at St. Jude.
The two quickly became great friends. Kelsea was nominated for a couple of CMA Awards and decided to share her big night with her new friend by asking her to be her date to the show November 4th.
Allie was diagnosed with brain cancer two years ago. Kelsea decided that since her new friend had missed so many things in her life because of her battle with cancer she would give her a night out on the red carpet and the CMA Awards.
Allie got to enjoy the full treatment for the CMA Awards with Kelsea and the Today Show was on hand to document it all for their special series “Thanks and Giving” which aired earlier this week.

Thanks to Kelsea Ballerini for giving Allie an incredible night I’m sure she will never forget!
