George Strait and Thomas Rhett have Big Album Debuts

George Strait and Thomas Rhett released their latest albums on the same day and the two have scored big Billboard album debuts with their first week sales.

Friday, September 25th both Cold Beer Conversation by George Strait and Tangled Up by Thomas Rhett were released. That same day Cass County, a solo project by Don Henley of The Eagles was also released.

The Don Henley project is classified as a country album and moved 89,000 units giving it the #1 debut on the Billboard Country albums chart. The project also scored a #3 debut on the Billboard 200 all-genre chart.

George Strait’s first week moved 86,000 units of Cold Beer Conversation to give it a #2 debut on the Billboard Country albums chart and a #4 start of the Billboard 200 chart.

Thomas Rhett’s sophomore album makes its debut at #3 on the Billboard Country albums chart moving an impressive 76,000 units in the first week. The total gives Thomas Rhett his second Billboard 200 top ten album as Tangled Up debuts at #6 on the all-genre chart. The country singer-songwriter’s debut album It Goes Like This which also debuted at #6 on the chart.
