Afternoons with Dana

Hey there I’m Dana! Afternoons on B104 from 2-6pm every weekday is when you can listen to me.

I have grown up in Central Illinois and stayed here for most of my life – graduated from Prairie Central High School, went to Heartland Community College followed by graduating from Bradley University with a Marketing degree. As many times as I thought about leaving the state, I have never been ready to move away from family or friends.

In 2017, I accepted my first full-time job out of college with Cumulus Radio Bloomington as the Promotions Director and my love for the industry has grown into learning more and wanting to expand my involvement with our stations. In 2025, I was given the opportunity to join the B104 staff on-air. It’s a station I grew up listening to, so to be here on-air now is sometimes unbelievable!

I have always had a love for country music, though I did rebel against it in middle school because “I didn’t want to listen to the music my parents listened to” anymore, but it quickly drew me back in. I love the artists, the songs, the meanings behind the lyrics… and definitely the live shows!

I go to every concert I have the opportunity to go to – I am obsessed with seeing artists live. The energy and excitement are unmatched. Getting the occasional meet & greet opportunity because of this job in radio is pretty cool too.

When I’m not working or going to a concert, you can probably find me at the gym, hanging out with my husband and our dogs, shopping and eating local, or doing something with arts & crafts (my current favorite medium is ceramic pottery!).

I have connected with so many individuals and organizations through my time in Bloomington-Normal and I love being involved in our community. Some of the organizations I love to support include St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Special Olympics Illinois, Toys for Tots of McLean County, Lifelong Access, and every animal shelter in town!
