Luke Combs will not be singing his debut #1 single when he performs at the hurricane benefit “Concert for Carolina” with Eric Church and others.
Luke and Eric are natives of Carolina. They teamed up to create a special concert to raise funds for hurricane relief in their home state after Hurricane Helene caused so much devastation there. Joining the efforts for the concert are Billy Strings, James Taylor, Sheryl Crow, Keith Urban, Bailey Zimmerman and more.
Luke’s debut single in 2016 was a song titled “Hurricane.” It compares meeting a woman at a bar to being caught in a hurricane. Rolling Stone reports that Luke will not be singing that song at the benefit concert. Luke said, “[That] came up a couple days ago and we were talking about it, [but] you just can’t do it.”
Luke did announce yesterday (10/14) that his new bar in Nashville will open November 2nd. The recent natural disaster has not made him change the name of the bar. It is called “Category 10” in homage to his debut #1 song.
The “Concert for Carolina” is sold-out. However, you can still make donations to the efforts here.
