Early this morning (10/9) the last building from the Las Vegas “mob days” was demolished. The Tropicana, which has been a part of the Vegas strip for 67 years, is gone.
Since it is Las Vegas … everything that happens has to be turned into a show. Even though it took place at around 2:30a.m., the demolition of the Tropicana was a spectacle for people to watch.
There were fireworks and what even appeared to be drones creating the “Tropicana Las Vegas” logo in the night sky. The actual implosion of the buildings only took about 22 seconds.
The removal of the Tropicana clears the way for a $1.5 billion baseball stadium. The stadium is where the Oakland A’s will relocate to after the 2024 season.
