Shohei Ohtani made Major League Baseball (MLB) history last night (9/19)!

The Los Angeles Dodgers were on the road in Miami to play the Marlins. Ohtani was already having a great game. He had stolen his 51st base and hit his 49th home run when he came up to bat in the top of the seventh. Even with their team being crushed, the crowd at LoanDepot Park erupted when Ohtani hit his 50th homer of the season.

The 30-year-old baseball player created the MLB 50-50 Club. Ohtani is the sole member of that club. He is the only player in the history of Major League Baseball to have hit 50 home runs and stolen 50 bases in a single season.

Ohtani even extended the record in the game making it 51 stolen bases and 51 home runs. He had arguably the best single-game performance ever with two bases stolen, he went 6-for-6 at bat with a career high three homers and 10 RBIs.

The Dodgers crushed the Marlins by a final score of 20 to 4.
