After more than two decades, Blake Shelton has parted ways with his long-time record label.
Warner Music Nashville (or their imprints Giant Records and Warner Bros. Records) has been with Blake to release 12 studio albums the include Gold, Platinum, Double Platinum and Triple Platinum albums. They also released 54 singles that included 28 number ones of which 17 were consecutive from 2009 to 2016.
Billboard reports that Blake stated, “I moved to Nashville when I was 17 to sing country music and get a record deal. Along with the support from Warner, my dreams came true, and then some. It’s impossible to name everyone who has had a hand in all the success we enjoyed, but a huge and heartfelt thank you to the Giant Records, Warner Bros. Records and Warner Music Nashville staff and family.”
Warner Music Nashville posted this statement on social media…
It appears as though the split is an amicable one. No word as to what Blake’s plans are for new music in the future.
