It’s summer time and that means it is vacation time for most families. However, with inflation many people may not have the extra money to travel.
That means a lot of people might take a “staycation” as the less expensive option. This allows you to have fun with the family while avoiding the overnight lodging costs and minimizing the travel expenses.
WalletHub researched 182 U.S. cities to find the best locations for a staycation. According to their research, these cities offer recreation, food, entertainment, and relaxation.

Just north of us here in central Illinois, Chicago came in at #6 on the list. Just south of us, St. Louis just missed the top ten coming in at #11.
Being able to drive to either destination for the day and return home makes either an option for a staycation from here.
