A recent survey of 2,000 Americans found that 73% would prefer to take a road trip over even a short flight.
The average person has taken 16 road trips during their life. Here are the five best things about road trips according to the survey.
- Getting to see New Scenery and Landscapes (50%)
- Listening to Music (43%)
I figure that includes the radio so, SCORE! - Taking a Break from Your Routine (26%)
- Just Enjoy Driving (25%)
- Trying Local Food Along the Way (24%)
There were also some negative things revealed in the survey.
37% of those surveyed that said they have experienced a “road trip nightmare” like: flat tires, break downs, bad weather and finding out you hate the person traveling with you.
The top pet peeves on a road trip are losing cell service (36%), having to make frequent bathroom stops for somebody (35%) and the ever-popular “are we there yet” question (27%).
