Reba McEntire’s career has come full circle over 50 years singing the National Anthem.
Reba was discovered in 1974 when she sang the National Anthem at the National Finals Rodeo (NFR) in her native state of Oklahoma. The following video was played during a tribute to Reba during a special called CMT Giants.
Since 1974, Reba has sold more than 41 million albums and scored 25 number one singles. She has been nominated for 221 music industry awards. She has won 91 of those including ACM and CMA Female Vocalist, ACM and CMA Entertainer of the Year and three Grammys.
Beyond music Reba has starred in films and TV shows. She has also branched out with a restaurant and clothing line.
Yesterday (2/11) Reba did what she had done in 1974 that started her down the road to being called “The Queen of Country Music.” She sang the “Star Spangled Banner.” This time it was at Super Bowl LVIII.
Reba isn’t done with her career. She’s still out there making music. She is serving as a coach on The Voice. And, it was recently revealed there may be a new TV show on the way.
