You likely heard that Carl Weathers passed away last week at the age of 76. As a result, FanDuel is adjusting their Super Bowl ad that he was a part of.

Carl was best known for his role as “Apollo Creed” in the first four Rocky movies. He also had roles in Predator, Happy Gilmore and Close Encounters of the Third Kind. Carl appeared in TV series including The Mandalorian, Chicago Fire, Chicago P.D. and Chicago Justice.

Prior to becoming an actor in the 1970s, Carl played in the NFL and the Canadian Football League.

Carl had already appeared in the teaser clip for the FanDuel’s Super Bowl ad campaign called “Kick of Destiny.”

However, since his passing FanDuel is making changes to the ad campaign stating, “We are adjusting our campaign accordingly out of respect for the family during their time of grief.”
