Hockey is officially coming back to town with the Bloomington Bison for the 2024-25 ECHL season!

During a press conference at Grossinger Motors Arena Wednesday (1/24), Hallet Sports and Entertainment announced their $4 million investment in the new hockey team.

City officials project this new agreement could produce around $20 million in economic opportunities for Bloomington-Normal.

The team wants to hire around 18 front office staff and game day staff before the start of the next season. Interested parties should go to the team’s website, BloomingtonBisonHockey.com, for employment opportunities.

The team’s mascot and logo have connections to local history. The top hat the Bison wears is a nod to President Abraham Lincoln. A Route 66 logo is also a part of the team’s logo.

Ticket prices will range from $20 to $36, depending on seat locations. The team announced that there were over 400 season tickets sold in the first 24-hours of release.
