Jon Pardi has a new view as he begins 2024. That view is alcohol free.
According to People, Thursday, December 28th marked 112 days sober for the 38-year-old country music singer-songwriter.
“I’ve been 112 days sober. I’ve lost a bunch of weight. “I was pre-diabetic, and I was just like, ‘I gotta stop’,” Jon stated on a podcast.
Jon explained that seeing himself with extra weight in photos and music videos made him unhappy with himself. Since starting his sobriety, he has lost weight and gained confidence. “I just did a photo shoot and I was like … ‘Damn, I look good’,” Jon stated.
He encourages people who feel they need to lose weight to stop drinking as part of their own journey, “For anybody that’s thinking about it, if they want to lose weight and you do drink, let me tell you, it does help tremendously if you stop.”
Jon doesn’t rule out ever drinking alcohol again, “I’m retired, OK? Doesn’t mean I can’t come out of retirement. But for right now, it’s been great.”
