If you are dreaming of a “White Christmas” and you live in central Illinois, you may want to make plans to travel to find it.
Looking at the 10-Day Weather Outlook, predictions are that temperatures will be in the upper 40s to lower 50s by the Christmas weekend.
The current predictions for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day here in the Bloomington-Normal area are for daytime highs around 52 and overnight lows around 46. Those conditions do not lend themselves to snow covering the ground.
The official definition of a “White Christmas” is having at least one inch of snow on the ground. Precipitation is predicted right now toward week’s end and on Christmas Eve and Day. However, that precipitation will be in liquid form not crystallized form. Unless the temperatures fall below the predictions, we’ll have a wet Christmas, not a White Christmas.
White or not, everybody here at B104/Cumulus Radio Bloomington wishes you a Merry Christmas!
