Luke Combs has found himself in very rare company as the singer of one of only six country songs to be certified Diamond by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).
The RIAA Gold certification represents sales of more than 500,000 copies. Their Platinum certification represents one million in sales. Both of those are milestones all artists strive to reach with their singles, and many achieve.
The RIAA Diamond certification represents the sale of TEN-MILLION copies. It is a high mark that artists may dream of one day reaching with a song or two. It is such a rare milestone that only five other country songs have achieved it: Lady A’s 2009 hit “Need You Now,” Florida Georgia Line’s 2012 hit “Cruise,” Darius Rucker’s 2013 hit “Wagon Wheel,” Chris Stapleton’s 2015 hit “Tennessee Whiskey” and the 2019 hit collaboration between Lil Nas X and Billy Ray Cyrus ‘Old Town Road.”
Luke Combs joins this elite list with his 2018 hit single “Beautiful Crazy.” The song was included as a bonus track on the 2017 re-issue of his debut album titled This One’s for You Too. The single became a seven-week #1 on the Billboard Country Airplay singles chart.
Congratulations to Luke Combs for “Beautiful Crazy” becoming one of only six country songs to be certified Diamond by the RIAA.
