Muscle car fans are likely shocked at the news the Chevrolet is ending the production of the Camaro.
The auto manufacturer announced that they are discontinuing the car after the 2024 model. The reason is due to a drop in sales for the Camaro. The final Camaro is scheduled to roll off the line in January of 2024. That 2024 model is being touted as a “Collector’s Edition.”
This is not the first time Camaro production was ended. The first model came out in 1966. Chevy ended production of the car in 2003. It began producing it again in 2010. The good news is that this halt in production might be temporary as well. In the press release from Chevrolet it states, “this is not the end of Camaro’s story” although it did not announce the successor for the car.
Chevy also noted that the car is being used in motorsports including NASCAR. They say the remain committed to those relationships with a plan to “continue to compete and win at the highest levels of auto racing.”
