Last night (10/4) the Blind Auditions continued for season 22 of The Voice. How close did Blake Shelton come to filling Team Blake?
Austin Montgomery is a 19-year-old from Henet, California. He describes himself as an “old soul” because he is inspired by the legends in country music like Jerry Lee Lewis, Hank Williams and Merle Haggard. His sound is older than his age as a result as well. Austin sang the Hank Williams Sr. classic “I Can’t Help it” for his Blind Audition. His rich voice got Gwen Stefani to hit her button. Blake and Camila Cabello bantered back and forth until both of them turned their chairs as well. Watching the three coaches make their pitches to Austin was very entertaining. It was unlike anything I have seen on the show previously. Especially when Gwen “gets real” with him and Camila’s reaction to it.
Austin made the obvious choice to join Team Blake with Blake Shelton as his coach.
That brings Team Blake to a total of 12 artists for the season. That’s just two more to fill the team.
In fact, John Legend, Gwen and Camila all added a single artist each to their respective teams. That brings all teams to a total of 12 artists each.
The show ended stating that the Blinds would come to an end next week.

The Blind Auditions for The Voice Season 22 conclude next week, Monday and Tuesday (10/10 & 10/11) at 7 p.m. central time (8 p.m. eastern time) on NBC.
