Justin Moore loves to hunt and is a proud gun owner, but his most prized gun he owns is one that doesn’t even work. “I’m the oldest grandson on my dad‘s side,” explains Justin, “and that grandfather is the one who passed who I was so close to. And he always had this tiny little .22 rifle, and it don’t even work anymore. I mean, it won’t even shoot. But he always told me for years and years and years, decades, that it was gonna be mine someday.”
The rifle is a family heirloom that was given to Justin’s grandpa by his grandfather, which means it’s been around for five generations, and Justin says, “Before he passed away he gave that to me. Like I said, you can’t even shoot it anymore, but it means a lot to me.”
Justin’s son South is only 4 ½ right now, but chances are one day he will continue the tradition of passing down the family heirloom, by giving his prized .22 rifle to his son.
