Artist Sells Invisible Sculpture for $18,000

An Italian artist has sold an invisible sculpture for $18,000!

Salvatore Garau says that his creation is not “nothing.” He says he thinks of it as a vacuum. The unnamed art collector will get an artist signed and stamped certificate of authentication.

OK, I have three trains of thought for what this is…

#1 – The artist gave the money to somebody to purchase this anonymously to create some publicity for himself. (In which case it worked.)

#2 – There is a person whose wealth is only eclipsed by how gullible they are.

#3 – There is a person who wants to win the “I’m so rich” contest with their friends…

  • “I’m so rich I paid $500,000 for a couch.”
  • “I’m so rich I paid $1 million for a car.”
  • “I’m so rich I paid #3 million for a yacht.”
  • “I’m so rich I paid $10 for a plane.”
  • “I’m so rich I paid $18,000 for an invisible sculpture.” Translation, “I’m so rich I paid $18,000 for NOTHING.” – WINNER

What is something that you bought that you can’t believe how much you spent on it?
