Country music singer-songwriter Lainey Wilson left her hometown of Baskin, Louisiana because she knew she was meant to be in Nashville.

Lainey drove her camper trailer to Music City and parked it next to a recording studio owned by family friend, Jerry Cupit. It led to a nickname for the aspiring country music star as she began to do what she felt she was meant to do.

“I’ve always known that I was suppose to be here, and I have always had this deep down crazy sense of overwhelming peace that this is what I’m supposed to do. I had never even really driven on the interstate when I came to Nashville. I moved up here in my camper trailer and was known as the ‘camper trailer girl’ around town … But, I have always just been bound and determined to figure out my way in Nashville. You know, it’s taken me a while, it’s been a big ole journey, but it’s all about the ride.”

Lainey’s song “Things A Man Oughta Know” has climbed inside the top 20 at #18 on the Billboard Country Airplay chart and #16 on the Mediabase/Country Aircheck chart for this week. Listen for the song on Bloomington-Normal’s #1 Country, B104.

Lainey will be out on the Jason Aldean “Back In The Saddle Tour 2021” this summer that includes a stop in Peoria, Illinois October 7th. Get concert and ticket details here.

Is there something you do because you know you were always meant to? What is it?
