For the past year, Justin Moore and a lot of artists have leaned on one another to deal with the emotional toll not being able to do their jobs has taken on them. Justin does the “Justin Moore Podcast” which has allowed him to talk to some of his fellow artists during the pandemic.

Justin says, “I’ve talked to Brantley (Gilbert) a fair amount, and because of the podcast I’ve been able to catch up with folks. And we almost have our own language. You know, nobody really understands what we do to the degree that we all understand it, except for us.”

One thing Justin wants to make clear is, “Nobody wants anyone to feel sorry for us. We have really blessed lives and all of the things that come along with it, but at the same time when you get this (career) pulled from you, it’s tough to deal with.”

Something other artists are able to understand in a way that only they can is that the struggle with not being able to get on stage and perform is not about the money or getting to stand in the spotlight. As Justin explains, “We all feel most comfortable standing on stage for an hour. That’s it. It’s as simple as that, and when you don’t have that outlet, it’s tough. It’s really, really tough and there’s nothing you can do to replace it. There’s not anything else you can substitute for it. And so, we’ve all kind of had those conversations.”

Fortunately for Justin, he has a string of tour dates that kick off at the end of the month and run through November, which means he’ll soon be able to return some normalcy to his life.
