The short answer? No. No way. Here’s what actually happened.
Dan + Shay had a big night at the 56th annual ACMs last night, winning Duo of the Year and performing a soulful version of their latest hit, “Glad You Exist.”
But fans watching the show may have thought they were lip syncing the performance when watching the show LIVE on CBS due to technical difficulties.
The show was pre-taped due to the performances happening in multiple locations, and when CBS played the performance back it aired out of sync.
Some watching the show thought the duo was lip syncing, but the performance was so off, it was obvious there was a technical error.
Shay Mooney has one of the most incredible voices in the business, he doesn’t need to fake it.
Thankfully CBS has since confirmed and apologized for the technical snafu.
Although Dan + Shay were bummed about the technical issues, they took the high road placing no blame on anyone and saying “We’re bummed about it, but it happens…”
apparently there was an audio/video sync issue on the television broadcast. we’re bummed about it, but it happens, especially when performances are happening in multiple locations. kudos to the @ACMawards for pulling off a great show. ❤️ https://t.co/gO4GcJZqNm
