Tim McGraw’s latest single “I Called Mama” reached number one this week. It gives him his 30th career #1 in just under three decades.
Tim released his first single in 1991. That makes this year the 29th year that he has been sending songs to country radio.
Tim scored his first number one single in 1994 when “Don’t Take The Girl” topped the Billboard Country Singles chart for country radio airplay.
Tim’s last trip to the top of the charts prior to this year was in 2016 with his song “Humble And Kind.” He also topped the chart again that year as a collaborator with Florida Georgia Line on their song “May We All.”
This week “I Called Mama” reached the #1 spot on the Mediabase/Country Aircheck Singles chart. Tim took to Twitter to express his gratitude over reaching the career milestone.
It takes a village, it’s true….Thanx to all my friends in Country Radio, @BigMachine, and @EMco615 for the support!! Grateful and honored#ICALLEDMAMA pic.twitter.com/otd4LYkLxu
