Tim McGraw just released his brand new album, Here On Earth, last Friday, and at 53 years old with a 30-year career to his credit, Tim says he has no plans to slow down anytime soon, especially now. When asked if he planned to ride his career until the wheels fell off, or if there was a certain marker or milestone that would signify to him that it was time to retire, Tim said, “I don’t know that there’s a marker that I have. I don’t foresee myself doing it forever, for sure .”
But for now, while Tim is making some of the best music of his career and having success on the charts, he has no plans to retire anytime soon. “I mean gosh, our youngest daughter is going away to college – knock on wood – hopefully in the fall, not that I want her to, but for her to be able to go to college and have that experience,” says Tim, and he laughs, “It seems like a good time to work more. You know, three kids out on their own, my wife hanging out with me. I’m looking forward to workin’, for the foreseeable future anyway.”
And why would Tim slow down when he’s continuing to record hit songs like his latest single, “I Called Mama,” which is hovering around the top ten on the charts and continuing to make its way to the top spot.
Listen for “I Called Mama” by Tim McGraw on Bloomington-Normal’s #1 Country, B104.
