I love surprises, and Keith Urban just surprised Riley Green and Tenille Townes with the best news of the year!
Both artists were nominees in the New Male and New Female Artist of the Year categories for the upcoming ACM Awards, and guess what? They both WON! I think you could tell where I was going with this.
Other nominees in the New Male Artist category were Jordan Davis, Russell Dickerson, Cody Johnson, and Morgan Wallen, while the females also included Gabby Barrett, Ingrid Andress, Lindsay Ell, and Caylee Hammack.
This was the first ACM nomination for each, and now a win for each newcomer as well. Both artists got a surprise when Keith Urban crashed their Zoom calls, which they thought were business meetings, to surprise them with the incredible news!
And, while Townes and Green earned trophies without needing to leave the comfort of home, they’ll soon get a chance to play live music on stage again because both winners earned a slot performing at the upcoming ceremony.
.For the first time in the show’s history, the 55th Academy of Country Music Awards will take place in Nashville, broadcasting from three iconic venues including the Grand Ole Opry House, the historic Ryman Auditorium and The Bluebird Cafe, on September 16th, and hosted by none other than memory maker Keith Urban himself!
