How The Coronavirus Helped Bring Back Crocs

Crocs are back – and the coronavirus pandemic is part of the reason why.

Sales of the distinctive plastic clogs shot up 14 percent in March and April, despite retail stores closing and clothing sales dropping across the board.

So what’s the secret? People are working from home! Crocs might be ugly, but they’re comfortable – perfect to wear around the house if not to the office.

As the Wall Street Journal put it, “Crocs are the perfect shoes to wear when no one can see you wear them”.
