With the news that Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert are indeed getting a divorce, how should country music fans handle the news?

I am a fan of both of these two amazing singer-songwriters and people. I have been watching all the social media posts about the sad news that Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert are getting divorced and decided to share my two cents on how country music fans should handle the news.

First of all, yes it is news and we along with country music outlets all around the nation and world have reported the story. That is our job. However, for the most part we need to now back off and give Blake and Miranda their space about the situation and respect their privacy and feelings. They are both humans just like the rest of us and this cannot be easy for them to go through any more than it would be for any one of us.

Second, don’t believe any reports of the reason this is happening from anybody other than Blake Shelton or Miranda Lambert directly. I have no doubt that the tabloids and non-reputable news outlets are busy “creating” stories of misconduct on both sides of the fence that are completely untrue just to get you to buy their magazine/paper.

Finally there is no reason pick sides and stop being a fan of either of these two talented singers simply because of this personal life situation for Blake and Miranda. I saw one of my Twitter followers post this opinion earlier today. I agree with @allaboutblake completely on this view.

To support this view is the fact that as I write this blog hours after the news of the divorce has gone viral, Miranda’s Twitter profile picture is still a picture of her AND Blake. Blake’s Twitter account still has a picture of Miranda plastered across the top as the header.

I also agree with @allaboutblake’s assessment that we are not owed an explanation or reason why this is happening. The two stars have given us many looks inside their personal lives and that has been a gift. There is no requirement that they open this very real and likely painful personal situation for us all to see. This also goes back to my second point of not believing any reports of why this is happening from anybody other than from the only two people that truly know the reason.

The bottom line is this … as a country music fan I will continue to support both Blake Shelton AND Miranda Lambert. I will continue to enjoy the amazing music that both talented artists produce. I will give them both the space and respect that they deserve in this very personal matter. I hope that all country music fans will do the same.

Of course, this is a complete editorial of MY personal thoughts. Other than any linked facts, it’s completely my own opinion that you can agree with or not.
