Country music newcomer Ingrid Andress may be learning the music business, but she is familiar with life on the road thanks to her father.
Ingrid’s father is Brad Andress, professional baseball coach. Brad was on the coaching staff as strength and conditioning coach for the Detroit Tigers (1990-1999), the Colorado Rockies (2000-2008) and the New York Mets (2011).
Ingrid got to experience life on to road with her dad while he was part of the Colorado Rockies organization.
“It taught me early on that I’m okay wherever I go because I’ll always be able to figure out like what to do and how to adapt,” Ingrid states. “It really gets you out of your comfort zone and makes you okay with things that you wouldn’t normally do.”
Now Ingrid gets to step out of her comfort zone travelling to promote herself and her music. While she learns about the music industry on tour, she also gets to see life around the country and world with a new perspective.
“You know, people are pretty much the same everywhere, it’s just different cultures,” Ingrid shares. “The sooner that you can appreciate different cultures and other people, the easier it is to travel. And you learn a lot more from just listening to other’s stories than you would if you just stay in your bubble.”
Ingrid’s debut single “More Hearts Than Mine” is approaching the top 10. The song is at #12 on both the Billboard and Mediabase/Country Aircheck singles charts for country radio airplay. The song is from her debut album Lady Like that is set to drop March 27th.
Listen for “More Hearts Than Mine” by Ingrid Andress on Bloomington-Normal’s #1 Country, B104.
