This is why we call dogs our best friend!
Christina Koch spent a record setting 328 days in space. That is just 12 days shy of the American single-spaceflight record held by Scott Kelly. BUT, she did break the previous 288 days record for the longest single-spaceflight held by a woman, former NASA astronaut Peggy Whitson!
She also participated in the first all-female spacewalk with fellow astronaut Jessica Meir.
What an incredible moment in history!!!
As exciting as that was, Christina was extremely happy to be back on land and head home after nearly a year in space. She was exctied to see her family and friends, and head to the beach, and eat chips and salsa, but more than anything she was excited to see her dog LBD…who was JUST as excited to see her as you can tell from the video she posted on Twitter.
Not sure who was more excited. Glad she remembers me after a year! pic.twitter.com/sScVXHMHJn
