Maren Morris hit number one with her latest single “The Bones.” She says it’s her life that made the song possible.
“The Bones” is all about having a strong foundation to make a relationship strong enough to handle life. The singer-songwriter says that situation has not been present in her life until recently.
“I’ve never had this foundational, strong relationship to inspire a song like ‘The Bones’,” Maren admits. “So, I think art imitates life in that sense, so I’m really happy that I was able to be in a place to write a song that was that sentimental to me in my relationship.”
Maren is married to fellow singer-songwriter Ryan Hurd. Both will have something to inspire more songs in the very near future. They are expecting their first child together, a boy, in March.
Maren knows that there will be many new challenges to face as a mother. However, she looks forward to motherhood.
“I think that this is like a really selfless challenge to get to know another side of yourself. And it’s sort of like a reflection of you, literally, and how you deal with things,” she shares, “So, I think it’s going to be an amazing challenge, raising a human.”
