American Red Cross Announces Star for the 27th Annual Evening of Stars
Country Singer and Actor Trace Adkins to Headline 2020 Event
BLOOMINGTON, IL, January 27, 2020 — The American Red Cross announced today that country singer and actor Trace Adkins, known for his distinctive bass-baritone voice, will headline the 27th Annual Evening of Stars on Wednesday, April 29, 2020. The event will be held at the Bloomington-Normal Marriott Hotel & Conference Center.

Adkins is best known for his musical career with hits including (This Ain’t) No Thinkin’ Thing, Ladies Love Country Boys and You’re Gonna Miss This. His film and TV credits include appearances in The Lincoln Lawyer, Mom’s Night Out and I Can Only Imagine, he also voices Elvin, a recurring character on King of the Hill. Adkins was a finalist on NBC’s 2008 The Celebrity Apprentice and returned to win NBC’s 2013 The All-Star Apprentice in which he broke the record for the highest amount of money raised for a charity by an individual in the history of the show, raising an amazing $1,524,072 for the American Red Cross.
Evening of Stars Chair Wendy Wilber and Red Cross Regional CEO Lyn Hruska made the announcement about Adkins’ appearance today. Wilber is owner of Travel By Wendy and a board member of the American Red Cross Serving Central Illinois.
“We are excited to have a country music legend join us this year,” said Wendy Wilber, Evening of Stars Chair. “Trace Adkins has an interesting and colorful story and guests will enjoy his music and his big personality.”
Adkins’ appearance will include a talk and a live performance. Those with VIP tickets will have a chance to meet Adkins prior to his stage appearance.

It’s exciting to add him to the spectacular list of stars who have been a part of Evening of Stars over the past 26 years,” said Lyn Hruska, Chief Executive Officer for the American Red Cross Central and Southern Illinois Region. “The funds raised from Evening of Stars are critical to our mission delivery, and we look forward to a fun night with Trace Adkins.”
Funds raised help the Red Cross provide critical services for our community including helping people impacted by disasters, collecting lifesaving blood, serving our military members and their families and training people in skills like CPR and First Aid.
The 27th Annual Evening of Stars will be held on Wednesday, April 29, 2020 at the Bloomington-Normal Marriott Hotel & Conference Center at 7:00 p.m. Tickets are $200 each or guests may choose the Red Carpet Experience for $750, which includes two tickets to the VIP reception, two Evening of Stars tickets with preferred seating for the dinner and program, and your name listed in the program.
