Last night (10/28) the Battle Rounds ended and the Knockout Rounds began on season 17 of The Voice.
The final pairing for Team Blake in the Battle Rounds was 19-year-old Jordan Chase and 36-year-old Ricky Braddy. Their performance was a part of a video montage on the show.
Blake Shelton chose to keep Ricky on his team for the Knockout Rounds.
The final Battle Rounds performance of this season was Team Kelly’s young duo Hello Sunday and Lauren Hall.
Kelly kept Hello Sunday on her team and Blake used his “Steal” to bring Lauren to Team Blake.
All of the coaches get the help of Taylor Swift as a “mega-mentor” to prepare their artists for the Knockout Rounds performances.
Blake pitted 37-year-old Marina Chello against 28-year-old Cali Wilson for his first match-up of the Knockouts. The two ladies could not be much more different in their styles.
Marina chose to sing her version of the Tom Jones song “I (Who Have Nothing).” The performance was full of vocal power and grandness.
Cali put her voice to work on the song “Wicked Game” by Chris Isaak. Her performance was emotionally powerful in the tenderness she had in her voice.
Blake made the choice to keep Cali on his team for the live shows coming up.
You can see where all of the teams stand at the official website of The Voice here.
The Knockout Rounds continue tonight (10/29) on The Voice Season 17 at 7 PM central time (8 PM eastern time) on NBC.
