Lead singer and founder of the country-rock band Confederate Railroad says they will NOT change their name in light of recent controversy.

The controversy began when the DuQuoin State Fair in Illinois cancelled their scheduled concert or concerns their name could be considered racist. The Ulster County Fair in New York State followed suit over the band’s name and logo.

Danny was on Fox Nation’s Starnes Country and responded to the question of changing the band’s name by saying,

“That would never happen. I would never even consider changing the name out of fear of offending our fans. It would be a slap in their face.”

The website also quotes Danny as saying about the whole situation they are dealing with as a band,

“I am who I am. We do what we do. I’ve been performing for more than 43 years and, hell, I’ve never seen anything like this.”

Danny also appeared on the show Huckabee with Former Governor of Arkansas Mike Huckabee where they discussed the controversy. Danny even explained the origins of the band’s name in the interview. Watch it below.

Do you think Confederate Railroad is right in keeping their name or do you think they should change it?
