Last night (5/7) the Top 13 on season 16 of The Voice was cut down to the Top 8 for the semi-finals.
The artists performed live Monday night (5/6) and then America voted. The top seven in the voting were revealed through the first two-thirds of the show last night.
Those seven artists were Maelyn Jarmon (Team Legend), Dexter Roberts (Team Blake), Gyth Rigdon (Team Blake), Rod Stokes (Team Kelly), Shawn Sounds (Team Legend), Carter Lloyd Horne (Team Blake) and Andrew Sevener (Team Blake).
The bottom three artists in voting were then revealed eliminating them from the competition. Those artists were Celia Babini (Team Legend), Oliv Blu (Team Blake) and Jej Vinson (Team Kelly).
The remaining three artists Kim Cherry (Team Blake), LB Crew (Team Adam) and Mari (Team Adam) performed live for the Twitter Instant Save to become the final artist in the Top 8 next week.
After the Twitter voting concluded, the winner of the vote was revealed.
Kim Cherry prevailed giving Blake Shelton five Team Blake artists in next week’s semi-finals. John Legend moves forward with two artists remaining and Kelly Clarkson has just a single artist still in contention. Adam Levine will spend the final two weeks of the season as a spectator with no team members advancing.
The semi-finals on The Voice Season 16 begin Monday night, May 13th at 7 PM central time (8 PM eastern time) on NBC.
