Last night (4/30) was the “Top 24 Live Results” show on season 16 of The Voice. Monday night (4/29) all the artists performed live. The viewers then cast their votes overnight Monday into Tuesday.
The eight artists that received the most votes automatically advanced to next week’s show. Each coach got to choose one of their remaining artists to keep in the competition moving forward. That made a total of 12 hopefuls remaining in the competition.
Blake Shelton saw five of his eight remaining artists voted through by the viewer votes. Kim Cherry, Gyth Rigdon, Carter Lloyd Horne, Dexter Roberts and Andrew Sevener were among the eight artists that advanced by votes. John Legend had two of his artists advance via voting. Kelly Clarkson had just one team member advance automatically by votes. Adam Levine did not hear any of his artists’ names announced as automatically advancing.
Blake chose to keep Oliv Blu (stolen from Team legend in the Battle Rounds) on his team heading to next week’s show. That sent Selkii and Kendra Checketts home.
The “Comeback Stage” finale also took place last night live on the show. Kanard Thomas and LB Crew snag live to earn the final spot in next week’s show.
After the performances the five-minute “Twitter Save” window was opened and viewers voted on who would advance.
LB won the vote and chose to return to Adam as his coach for the rest of his time in the competition. That gives Team Adam a total of two members for next week’s show.
Moving to next week’s show there are six members from Team Blake, three members of Team Legend and two members each on Team Kelly and Team Adam.
You can see what artists are on each team at the official website of The Voice here.
Next week the Top 13 will perform live and hope to earn enough votes to remain in the competition. The Voice Season 16 continues Monday night, May 6th starting at 7 PM central time (8 PM eastern time) on NBC.
