There is a big change coming to season 16 of The Voice that could make things very interesting!
Blake Shelton and Adam Levine have been coaches on every season. The other two chairs have changed occupants including stars like Shakira, Usher, Pharrell Williams, Gwen Stefani (the pop star/coach that is now Blake’s girlfriend), Kelly Clarkson (the winning coach for the past two seasons) and Jennifer Hudson.
We already knew that Blake, Adam and Kelly would be returning as coaches for the next season of the show. We also knew that John Legend would be taking over Jennifer’s chair for the upcoming season.
Through 15 seasons of the award-winning TV singing competition there have been many other changes. These changes have kept the show fresh and new from season to season. Some of those changes have been welcomed by fans while others have not been so popular. Some of those changes include the “Twitter Save,” the “Block,” the coaches’ comeback artist and the “Comeback Stage” to name just a few.
CountryLiving.com reports that the coming for the new season of The Voice could potentially be one of the biggest in the show’s history. For the first 15 seasons of the show auditions were open to solo singers and duos. Beginning with season 16 trios will now be allowed to audition for the show.
Apparently the UK version of the show has premiered with trios being allowed to audition for the first time on the version of the show as well. Country Living says they have confirmed that the same change will be made in the U.S. version of the show when season 16 premiers.
How will this change the show? Will fans be open to this new aspect of the show? We will find out when The Voice Season 16 premieres Monday, February 25th on NBC.
