Thomas Rhett (TR) appears to have the perfect life. However, he lives in a house divided.
If you follow TR or his wife Lauren Akins on social media, you see all the sweet and love-filled posts and pictures like the one at the top of the page from their recent trip to Italy.
Most of the year they are the happy couple walking side-by-side in life together. The problem comes when college football season arrives.
TR pulls for the Georgia Bulldogs while Lauren is a Tennessee Volunteers fan.
“It’s actually pretty cordial,” TR states. “Like, if Tennessee’s playing anybody but Georgia, I pull for Tennessee, and if Georgia’s playing anybody but Tennessee, Lauren’ll pull for Georgia. She’ll even put on a red shirt … she’ll go with me there.”
What happens when the two teams play each other?
“We do not watch that game together,” TR admits. “We don’t watch the Georgia-Tennessee game together. It is not good for anybody that’s around us. So we won’t be together.”
I guess that means TR and Lauren will be apart this Saturday, September 29th when Tennessee travels to Georgia to battle the Bulldogs.
You can bet that Lauren will be back by her man’s side Tuesday, October 8th and Wednesday, November 14th.
The October date is when TR is up for Favorite Male Artist – Country and Favorite Album – Country for the 2018 American Music Awards live from Los Angeles.
The November date is when Thomas Rhett is nominated for Male Vocalist of the Year, Album of the Year for Life Changes and Video of the Year for “Marry Me” at the 52nd CMA Awards Show live from Nashville.
I can also bet you can guess who she’ll be pulling for to win those awards.
